About Us
Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mathava Jothi Tapovanam Sungai Petani, Kedah (MJT) is a welfare organization found by H.H Swami Poornanandha. The organization has been operating for past 25 years and officially registered on 13th July 2006 under Akta Pertubuhan 1966 and Peraturan- Peraturan Pertubuhan 1984. MJT initially started operating at No. 115 Kampung Lebaiman, Sg Petani and officially shifted to No. 4848, Tmn Ria Jaya, Sg Petani on 22nd Mar 2015.
Realizing the plaguing of social problems among the Indian community, H.H. Swami Poornanandha has established MJT to empower the community for tomorrow. Therefore MJT plan to have centres in each state to provide its utmost services to Malaysian community by 2013.
Among the activities that have been planned are:
1) To provide tuition classes and education assistant to needy students.
2) To organize social, economic and education seminars for youth, students and parents.
3) To develop leadership skills among the youth to face the challenging world.
4) To conduct yoga and meditation classes to all, in order to develop a healthy society-physically, mentally, and spiritually.
5) To organize free health camp in rural areas.
6) To establish a free health care centre for needy people.
7) To establish training centre focusing on skills based education.
Currently, MJT is conducting counseling sessions, group discussions among youths and elderly people, yoga and meditation, outdoor activities such as badminton, football and walking, seminars and youth camp. We also have weekly, monthly and yearly programs like visiting to old folks home, donating food and cloth to poor families, visit prisoners and patients in hospitals.
In future, MJT wishes to form an international network by expanding its wing to countries like Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Canada and India. We would like to create more opportunities in education, business sectors, religious field, research and technology, for future generation.
We in Tapoovanam believe that positive social changes of each, individual will act as a change agent for society by improving systems, inventing and disseminating new approaches, and advancing sustainable solutions that create social values. We need to develop individuals with high moral values to be the changes agent. Following activities are conducted at our centres to develop change agents.
