TAVATHIRU SRI YOGI POORNANANDHA
Swami Poornanandha was born on 29th July 1957, to the couple of Sri Supaya and Srimathi Alemelu in Sungai Petani, North Malaysia. Then he was named Chandran (immaculate and pure moon). Being the fourth of seven siblings, he seems to appear differenly as he grew up. During his early childhood, his mother recounted devotional stories like Ramayana and Mahabaratha which in later years become the root of his compassion towards spirituality.
He stared his primary education in Tamil medium school in Sungai Petani and later continued his secondary education in Malay medium school. He grew up as a charming boy and was adored by all. His keen interest in spirituality and meditation expelled from his boyhood. When he was 12 years old, he bought a ‘Rudraksha Mala’ and started chanting ‘Thiru Murugan’ mantra which leads him to a state of meditation.
After completing his studies, he travelled to Singapore to work in 1979. From an early age he began to have spiritual experiences and overwhelming desire in search of spiritual fulfillment. At this point he realizes the missing of Guru in his life and started to search. Its is here where he met Swami Haridoss Giri who was preaching at Sri Srinivasa Temple for the 48th days, Swami Haridoss Giri initiated him at Sri Srinivasa Temple.
In 1981, he joined United Motor Works in Kuala Lumpur for three years and later joined Telekom Malaysia, a government sector. Even at this time he displayed his strong attachments towards spiritual tendencies and dedication to the truth. He lived a very humble life at all times. However behind his simple exterior hid a personality of spirituality.
Later it was a period of seeking the wisdom and blessings from various saints and sages all over the countries to the extend of Singapore and india. And in 1986, his tiredness search ends with the blessings of the divine when he meet Swami Mathavanandha discipline of Swami Sorupanandha from the parampara of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharishi. There he become a displine of Swami Mathavanandha who later iniciated him to Swami Poornanandha.
Event this period of working, his love towards beloved Guruji never fade. He used to visit his Guruji wherever he is present. In later year on his Guruji’s command, he got married and was gifted with two daughters. Event after being a husband and a father, he didn’t forget his duty towards the society and community. At this point his urge to serve the society increased. At times he is drawn into profound states of meditation.
In 1991, after by having a small bahjan class in his home. This was the beginning of his path which after many years lead to the formation of Mathavanandha held a ‘Yaga Pooja’ at his home. This was the beginning of his path which after many years lead to the formation of Mathava Jothi Tapoovanam. In year 1994, for the first time, Swami Sorupanandha’s Samadhi day pooja was held at his house. In year 1998, Swami Mathavanandha went under Maha Samadhi. After the passing of his beloved Guruji, equipped with his Guruji’s blessing, Swami Poornanandha started going around preaching, conducting pooja, bahjan and meditation classes. Travelling to all parts of Malaysia to give awareness to the society never ends to him. After a period of time, his service began to shine among people.
Today after a long struggle, Swami Poornanandha has established Mathava Jothi Tapovanam which will serve his Guruji’s as his service towards the society. Under his supervision, ashram centre’s has been established in several states of Malaysia. His boundless love towards the society makes him a beloved Guruji by all his disciples.
Maha Samadhi
In 2011, Swami Poornanandha visited ashrams in Tamil Nadu. He visited His Guru's Maha Samadhi. He also visited various ashrams in Chennai, Thiru Annamalai, Thirukovilur, Thennagur, Kolli Malai and Rameshwaram. He back to Malaysia to continue His service to Hindu communities in Malaysia. On 2 September 2012, Swami Poornanandha continued his spiritual journey to India. He visited Thennagur, Thirukovilur, Thiru Annamalai and North India. He visited and meditated at Kedarnath, Jotishmath, Badrinath, Vyasa Guha, Vasistha Guha, Kodiswar (place where His beloved Guru, Swami Haridhos Giri entered Jala Samadhi), Haridhwar, Rishikesh and Guptakashi. He traveled more than 15,000 km and met a lot of Sadhus during his journey. After visited all the important and holy places for Hindus in North India, He returned to Chennai. On 3 October 2012, before returning to Malaysia, He entered Maha Samadhi at Chennai. His Maha Samadhi is located at Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia.
